Preferred and most secure method: 

OGL:  To Start Online Group:

OGL logs in and clicks the Start Meeting button on the top of the My Group page. 


Member:  To Join Online Group:

OGM logs in and clicks the Join Meeting button on the top of the My Group page. 


Secondary method: 

OGL:  To Start Online Group:

If the button does not work for the OGL to start the meeting, try disabling your pop-up blockers (see below). If still not successful, please report to Member Support and use the methods below.


The OGL can instead:

1. Try the Start Meeting button on the My Lessons page or My Calendar page 

2. OR Click “Copy link” next to the button and send it to themselves and then click the link to start the group. 


When OGL is absent, copy the Start Meeting link and share it with the Substitute in order for them to host the online group. Support Article: OGL - Substitute Leader



Member:  To Join Online Group: 

If the button does not work for the OGM to join the meeting, ask them to try disabling pop-up blockers (see below). If still not successful, please report to Member Support and try the methods below. 

 

The OGM can instead:

2. OR Click “Copy link” next to the button and send it to themselves or each other in order to join the group. 


Things to know: 

  • The Start/Join button is the same as clicking the link.
  • The link is the same every meeting for the whole study year.
  • The link is unique to your Online Group. It won’t work for anyone else’s group.
  • It is necessary to click the Join Meeting button in order to capture the attendance.
  • The actual Zoom information AFTER starting the meeting (under the Green Shield in the upper left corner) *CHANGES* each meeting, so make sure you are using the button or link on the BSF Online website.
  • If you use a tablet or phone, you need to have the Zoom application downloaded to your device. (Hosting a meeting on a small device is not recommended.) 


For issues with Zoom, please make sure to update your zoom client/application and then try again.


Zoom update notification: Users who are running an end-of-life version after May 4, 2024 will be logged out of their Zoom Client (Desktop, Mobile, and VDI) or not be able to join meetings via the Zoom Client until they update.


Disabling Pop-up Blockers 

Whether you use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or phone to join your weekly leaders meeting from the Join Meeting or Start Meeting buttons on the BSF Online website -- please disable your pop-up blocker on your Internet browser. The following Support articles can help you with this:
